Back to Basics
"Truth is the essence of your word, and your judgments are ever righteous." Psalm 119:160 RVC
This is what we believe in
1- The Holy Scriptures. We believe in the Holy Scriptures, Old and New Testament, composed of 66 books as originally given by God, divinely inspired, infallible, worthy of complete trust, and the supreme authority in matters of faith and conduct . ( 2 Peter 1:21; 2 Timothy 3:16 and 17; Romans 15:4 ).
2- God. We believe in one true God, eternally existing in three persons. Father, Son and Holy Spirit, equal in nature, attributes and perfections. ( 1st Corinthians 8:6; 1st Timothy 2:5; Acts 5:3-5; Matthew 28:19; John 15:26 ).
3- The Lord Jesus Christ . We believe in our Lord Jesus Christ, co-eternal with the Father, God manifest in the flesh, begotten by the Holy Spirit, his virgin birth, his sinless human life, his divine miracles, his redemptive vicarious death, his bodily resurrection, his ascension, his mediatorial and intercessory work and his return in glory and power ( Luke 1:34 and 35; Romans 4:25; Titus 2:13; Hebrews 7:25; 1 Thessalonians 4:15-17; Revelation 20:6 ).
4- The Holy Spirit. We believe in the Holy Spirit, the only vicar of Christ on earth, who convicts the world of sin and works regeneration in believers in Christ, giving them the power to live victoriously ( John 16:8-11; Romans 8:2), filling the believer with his presence through baptism with the evidence of speaking in new tongues; and the operation of gifts and ministries. ( Acts 1:8; 2:1-4; 10:44-47; 1st Corinthians 12: 4 and 5 ).
5- Salvation. We believe in the salvation of lost and sinful man, through the blood of the Lord Jesus Christ, by faith, not by works but by the grace of God through regeneration by the Holy Spirit that produces good works. ( John 3:3-5; Romans 3:23; 2nd Corinthians 5:17; Ephesians 2:4-10; 4:22-24; Titus 3:5 ).
6- Water baptism. We believe in water baptism, as commanded by the Lord must be done by immersion and in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. ( Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 6: 4 ).
7- The Church. We believe that the Church is a unique spiritual organism, made up of all those who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit, who confess Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. ( Ephesians 1:22-23; 4:15-16; 1 Corinthians 10:17; 12:20-27; Colossians 2:17-19; Romans 12:4-5 ).
8- Holy Communion. We believe that the Lord's Supper, as a sign of communion, is to be performed in obedience to His command until He comes. ( Luke 22:14-20; 1 Corinthians 10:16-17; 11:23-26 ).
9- Healing. We believe that the redemptive work of Christ provides healing for the human body to all who believe. ( Isaiah 53:4-5; Matthew 8:16-17; Acts 10:38 ).
10- The resurrection. We believe in the bodily resurrection of Christ and in the resurrection of the saved and the lost. Those who are saved, to the resurrection of life and those who are lost, to the resurrection of condemnation. ( John 5:27-29; Acts 24:15; 1st Corinthians 15:52; Revelation 20:4-6; 20: 11-15 ).
11- Discipleship. We believe in the practice of seminarian discipleship as a biblical system for the preparation, instruction and intellectual, spiritual and doctrinal training of future pastors in each Church. ( 2 Timothy 2:2; Matthew 28: 19 and 20 ).
